“I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord.”

I want to encourage you to come to TLC this Sunday! I promise you that you will be happy if you put yourself in the path of the Gospel. The service will be beautiful, the choir is singing a fantastic anthem, Karl is sharing a special music selection that will melt your heart, and we have cinnamon rolls to share at the coffee hour. The sermon? Well, I am still working on that, but I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, and I am sure that you will find your heart touched and your spirit fed.

Last week I started the sermon by saying that I don’t say thank you nearly enough. So let me say thank you! From the bottom of my heart, let me say thank you! TLC is such an amazing place, and it is amazing because of you. I realize that you have lots of options each Sunday. You could sleep in or play golf. You could go for a hike or go out for breakfast. You could catch your breath after a hectic week in a harsh world. But most Sundays you make the drive to the church where everybody’s welcome, and for that I am very thankful.

The truth is I need you, and others need you too. I know that you could watch the sermon online, but who would be here then to give that needed hug to a friend or neighbor? If you don’t show up on Sunday morning, then our community is weaker and our family is incomplete. God asks us to remember the Sabbath for a reason. We need the Sabbath, and the people of God need you to be a part of the worshiping community.

So I am going to keep working on that sermon, and I am going to give thanks when I see you this Sunday. The service will be extraordinary, and God has already RSVP’d for the morning.

I thank you and I love you!
