I hope to see you this Sunday! The family will be gathering to sing, pray, hug, laugh and cry. We will parade down the center aisle to share the bread and wine of Holy Communion. I am working on a sermon titled, “Alpha and Omega Moments.”
If you could use a little grace in your life, then join us this Sunday. If you could benefit from some good news, then join us this Sunday. If you need your batteries charged or a fresh perspective, then join us this Sunday.
In the past month we have welcomed 30 new members to the TLC family! Keep in mind, when TLC started 63 years ago there were only 37 members total! In the New Members’ Class we talk about the “expectations of membership.” We don’t expect everyone to think alike. We don’t care how you vote. We don’t expect that you will agree with every sermon or teaching of your pastors.
What do we expect? We expect that you will worship and serve here. We expect that you will welcome and care for all people—after all, we let you in. And we expect that you will worship. If you are off on a cruise, away visiting grandma, or taking in a Mariners game, that is great, have fun. But if you are on the Island on a Sunday morning, we expect you to join us. You see, we need you, you need Jesus, we need each other, and the family is just not the same if you are not with us. Did I mention the fact that God has graciously invited you to come?
So I hope to see you this Sunday! I will keep working on that sermon, anticipating your arrival. Let’s share a holy hug and a holy moment. And finally, I will show you a photo of our new grandson. Camden James McNany was born on July 11th and I have fallen in love already.
Keep Smiling and I will see you in Church!
Love, Pastor Jim
