The cover of National Geographic Magazine has an artist portrayal of the Virgin Mary. The headline reads as follows: “Mary, The Most Powerful Woman in the World.”
She was a peasant girl who was chosen by God to give birth to Jesus. Her story has no parallel in human history. This Sunday, on the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we will be lighting four candles and focusing on the amazing story of Mary and Elizabeth.
This promises to be one of the most beautiful worship services that we will share all year. The Bell Choir will be playing, we will be singing “Angels We Have Heard on High”, “Joy to the World,” and “What Child is This?” Karl Olsen will sing “Mary, Did You Know?”
I promise you that you will be blessed if you come to worship on December 20th.
Four days later, on December 24th, we will gather for the great celebration of Christmas Eve. The 4 pm service will feature a delightful skit, favorite carols, special music and the singing of “Silent Night.” The 7 pm and 9 pm services will be marked by Holy Communion, special musical offerings, a Christmas Eve sermon, and 400 candles illuminating the sanctuary as we sing “Silent Night.”
So make your plans now to worship with your TLC family! Arrive early, park as far away as possible, share a smile with friends, open your arms to embrace visitors, and open your hearts as you make room for the Christmas Child.
Mary, the Most Powerful Woman in the World. Jesus, the baby, the Prince of Peace, the Savior of the World, the Reason for the Season!
See you in Church!
