Three years ago, we were making plans for the TLC 4 TLC Campaign. It was 2012, and our beloved TLC was in need of some Tender Loving Care.

Our carpets had absorbed 15 years’ worth of coffee spills. Our walls needed fresh paint, our parking lot was falling apart, our roof was beginning to leak, and the church sign that had served us for more than 20 years was failing. Our TLC campus was in need of a little TLC.

But there was more. Three years ago, we wanted to reduce our carbon footprint and be kinder to the environment. We wanted to add solar power to our campus, decrease our water usage, and increase our energy efficiencies.

We now have three months left in our TLC 4 TLC Campaign. The new roof is on. The parking lot is fixed. Thanks to the solar panels, we are mostly off the grid and saving thousands of dollars a year. The new church sign sends messages of hope to the community. The waterless urinals save water every day. The carpets were replaced and the walls were painted. Our sanctuary audio visual system has been upgraded. And we are so very close to being debt free. Thanks be to God.

There are two major projects yet to be completed. The water feature at the front entrance of the church needs to be replaced. This beautiful baptismal reminder was a memorial gift 19 years ago, but now it is in need of renovation. And we are still committed to providing senior apartments that will serve a growing population. Our Housing Task Force continues to meet with county planners and commissioners.

So I thank you for your generous support. I thank you for believing in the work that God is doing at TLC. Blessed to be a blessing—we are changing the island for good, and we are leaving a legacy of faithful stewardship behind.

I thank you for your partnership.
