Today’s Word from Pastor Jim…

1) THANK YOU!

Two simple words that need to be spoken but are inadequate to express my gratitude to you for supporting our shared work at Trinity Lutheran Church. 2025 was a fantastic year for us. Bucking national trends, Trinity continues to thrive as we follow the teachings of Jesus offering hope to a troubled and broken world. We are Gospel people—people of Good News and the vitality of our church community is Good News for Local non-profits who depend on the support that they receive from Trinity. We come alongside Whidbey Island non-profits and our global partners making a difference in the lives of God’s people far and near.

The bottom line: we could not do it without you. We receive no government funding, grants, or support from the larger ELCA. This shared ministry is dependent upon you. Thank you! Thank you for being so generous with your time, prayers and financial support.

2) SO THAT.

“I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, SO THAT you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

If our eyes are open, if we take a reasonable inventory of our lives, we realize that we have been blessed in so many ways. The Bible reminds us that we are blessed by God, but we are never blessed in isolation. We are blessed “SO THAT” we might in turn bless others. “Blessed to be a Blessing” has become our North Star offering us perspective and inspiration. “Blessed to be a Blessing” is more than a saying, it is in fact a way of life. An attitude of gratitude that blesses those who give and those who receive.

Thank you! I am blessed to be your pastor, blessed SO THAT I might be a blessing to others. Thank you for following Jesus in 2025. Now let’s change the world in 2026.

One beggar, telling another beggar where to find bread, I am your,

Pastor Jim
