Today’s Word from Deacon Amy…

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9

We are gearing up for a very different season in faith formation at Trinity. We know that parents and kids are feeling unsure and perhaps overwhelmed about the upcoming school year. Our goal is to provide engaging faith formation opportunities for students while being supportive of our families.

Sunday School students will have the opportunity to receive monthly take-home packets with Bible stories, coloring pages, crafts, and other engaging activities. We will provide weekly Children’s Message and music videos. Please click HERE to fill out a registration form to help us prepare. We’re planning to hold occasional Zoom meetings for each class as well – depending on family interest levels. We know that some are feeling “Zoomed-out” at this point!

Middle-School students will experience a new type of Confirmation program. Once each month, we’ll have a Zoom lesson that will focus on fellowship and deeper learning. Twice monthly, students will receive brief video lessons from me, with an opportunity for a creative response. Please click HERE to fill out a registration form. Your responses will help us to prepare for a great year.

High School students will experience opportunities to dive deeper into their faith and discuss ways to love our neighbors in today’s world. We’ll begin with a journal project about kindness. There will also be opportunities for fun and fellowship as well! Click HERE to provide your family contact info.

Parents! We’re looking for ways to support you this year, too! How can we help your family? Potential plans include parents-only zoom meetings, devotions, Bible study, school-at-home tips and strategies. Let me know how we can help you during this time.

We’re also hoping to make connections between our students and the larger congregation. If you’d like to be paired with a student pen-pal, let me know!

I’ve been learning a lot throughout this pandemic – and not just about editing worship videos! We are constantly finding new ways to connect with each other. This fall may be like none that we’ve faced before, but it’s going to be another great year, none-the-less!

Looking forward to seeing you on the 13th! Watch your emails and Facebook for details about our parking lot Rally Day worship gathering. We’ll have “worship bags” and goodies for kids of all ages!

One day closer!
