This is the second issue of Creation’s Corner by you – readers describing how you have been blessed by Creation’s extravagant beauty. If others would like to share their own stories, please send them to me – email address at the end. We would love to hear how Creation has blessed you recently – either on Whidbey or beyond!
Lee James: While living on Ebey’s prairie we have particularly exalted in clouds and misty-morning scenes. We have a fairly “big sky” look at the world in this corner of Whidbey Island. We marvel at the ever-changing cloudscape of our view. It’s in one of creation’s “convergent weather zones,” and includes seeing the sun through a hole in the clouds on the one hand or being swallowed up in the mist on the other! Photo above by Lee: Awe at a Winter Sunset.
Lindy Kortus: While flying home from the Southwest, a sunset view, sandwiched between two cloud layers, inspired me. It reminded me that behind every cloud is a silver lining!
Tom Nielsen: I feel truly blessed every time I step into the woods. God’s handiwork is all around – majestic trees overhead, tiny mushrooms at my feet, and chipmunks darting through the leaves! I am reminded of how lovingly He created this world, and it fills my heart with joy and gratitude – a woodland photo by Tom.
William Farnsworth: I love waking early to photograph the sunrise each day. On one particular day I was blessed with a sunrise that was only made possible by smoke from far away fires in California. It is one of my Whidbey sunrises I will always remember.
Marilynn Strayer and Sam Wolf: We recently traveled to the beautiful country of Belize on a birding trip. The rainforest was my favorite area. God must have had a delightful time creating such an intricate profusion of plants, birds and animals. My favorites were the Slaty-tailed Trogon (see photo) and the tiny, mottled owl. I was amazed at the miracle of migration – seeing all the warblers I loved in Ohio wintering in the forests of Belize. I am thankful for all of Creation, and enjoyed God’s sense of humor in the howler monkeys.
Deborah Sargent: My life has been blessed in many ways, the most powerful is finding Trinity Church. I am slowly becoming more God-like, kinder, walking the walk, nonjudgmental, reading his word more, grateful for my Church family, and special folks like you. I have been waiting to move into Langley for permanent housing and, after 6yrs and 8mos, I will be moving Jan. 1st. paying what I am used to paying but knowing I don’t have to move again. What a blessing! I have people in my life that love me unconditionally. What a blessing! GOD IS GOOD – ALL THE TIME – GOD IS GOOD!
If you have been blessed by the above words and thoughts of these, your friends, who worship with you at Trinity Lutheran Church, perhaps you have your own story to tell and would be willing to share it for another future edition of Creation’s Corner. Let’s continue this new tradition. We are waiting with eager expectation to hear your story!
Our Prayer: Fill us, Lord, with awe and wonder as we daily experience the extravagant beauty of Your amazing Creation. Amen.
Thanks for caring!
