Hearts Together is an interdenominational ladies Bible Study that meets every Monday Morning at 10 a.m. in the community building bordering Highway 525 from mid-September through May. You are ALWAYS welcome at Hearts Together.  Remember this is a Christian Bible Study and you are welcome to bring a friend or neighbor even if she does not attend Trinity.

Hearts Together is an informal gathering of women who want to learn more about the Bible but also want to connect with other women and build lasting friendships. Weekly attendance is encouraged but we know that is not always possible, so feel free to come when you can.

Please remember Hearts Together is a Christian Bible study, not a Lutheran Bible study and all denominations are welcome. Bring your Bible or a friend or your neighbor and join us for a wonderful study and special fellowship. Everyone welcome!

Friday Mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. – Co-Ed Contemplative Bible Study – Fireside Room

Join us for a reflective approach to Psalm 23, “Life with the Good Shepherd,” one phrase each week through May.  Contact Shaleen at 949/858-0613 or shaleench@gmail.com.

TLC Quilters

Quilts

Join the TLC Quilters and make something beautiful that will keep people in need warm and show that someone cares about them.

Every year we make more than 400 quilts which are distributed around the world, to disaster areas in our nation, people in need in our community, to nonprofits for fundraising raffles, and to members of our church at baptism, confirmation, high school graduation and those no longer able to attend church due to illness.

Our quilt tops are made of donated fabric. batting for stuffing is purchased. Quilt back are either purchased sheets or donated fabric or sheets.

It costs approximately $8 per quilt for supplies. Funds for supplies are raised from our annual quilt auction and the raffle of a special quilt at the Holiday Bazaar.

We welcome donations of cotton fabric at any time. that which we cannot use we recycle to Community Thrift.

Don’t sew?  No worry. We’ll teach you.

Join us every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Grigware Hall, the old TLC building which borders State Route 525.

Firewood Ministry

Firewood Ministry

bigstock_Stacked_Fire_Wood_1312678For the past ten years, about a dozen volunteers at Trinity Lutheran Church have been carrying on a quiet ministry of collecting, splitting, storing and then delivering firewood for people in the community and congregation in need of the wood to heat their homes.

About 30 cords of wood are donated every year; with about a half cord delivered to nearly 60 individuals or families.

Most recipients have either lost their jobs, are considered the working poor, are seniors on limited income, are disabled, or who have fallen on hard times.

The volunteers meet once a week on Wednesdays year round for an hour to work on the woodpile, and then have coffee together afterward. This is a great ministry for active retirees.

If you are interested in volunteering, making a donation to the ministry, or have wood to donate, please contact the church office.

WELCA

What is WELCA?

WELCA stands for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are a part of  a national organization as well as a NW Synod WELCA group.

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

Membership: If you are a member of Trinity Lutheran and female or even if you are not a member of Trinity but are still interested in the program and purpose of WELCA, then guess what? You are automatically a member of WELCA. (And there aren’t even any dues!)

Currently Trinity’s WELCA is involved in:

• Collecting soap for Lutheran World Relief

• Quilt making, assembling health and school kits that go to Lutheran World Relief and local needs.  (See the TLC Quilters page)

• Raising funds to support the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, preschool and seminary scholarships, lots of local charities, and the larger WELCA organizations (Last year $11,000 was raised and given away!)

• Collecting change for Stand With Africa

• Supporting the “scrubby” making that Nora Josephson started and a group of ladies is continuing

• WELCA also serves one of the Lenten soup suppers

• We  send delegates to the NW Synodical Women’s Organization and the churchwide Women’s Organization Triennial Convention

We meet 3 times a year  in Grigware Hall for luncheon get-togethers and to handle any business we might need to discuss.

The National and NW Synod WELCA’s hold retreats and a Triennial Convention, which all women are invited to attend. They also serve as resources for bible study, justice issues (such as domestic violence), stewardship and discipleship information and action.
