12654144_940118586041839_3968038865934471216_nToday we begin the Lenten Season as we observe Ash Wednesday. I would encourage you to come to the Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 pm. The service will include the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. In the weeks that follow, we will gather every Thursday night at 6:00 pm for a simple “served meal” in the gym. After the fellowship and the food we will move to the sanctuary for Lenten reflections and the beautiful Holden Evening Prayer Service.

This Sunday is Valentine’s Day. The service will be touching and thought provoking. You will be blessed if you choose to join your TLC Family this Sunday. In the service there will be a renewal of marriage. It looks like 20 couples will participate. You will be witnesses to their vow renewal, and you will see photos from their wedding day — some of them nearly 60 years ago.

The majority of the service will not be focused on marriage and romance. Rather we will be contemplating what it means to take vows. Several times in my life I have stood before altars here and there and said, “I will and I ask God to help me.” Nearly every time the journey that followed those vows was unpredictable, challenging and difficult.

So come to TLC this Sunday! We will be praying, singing, celebrating, laughing, and crying together. We will gather for coffee and wedding cake in the gym.
Mine is the Church where everybody’s welcome!

See you Wednesday night and on Sunday morning.

PS: Don’t forget to pick up one of Pastor Elizabeth’s Lenten Prayer devotionals. During Lent the TLC Family will be praying together each day.
