Trinity Endowment Fund

Leave a legacy that changes lives… a legacy that ministers to our community and the wider world… a legacy that prepares young people for lives of service and blessing.

The Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund is a perpetual fund from which some of the earnings will be distributed annually to benefit our local community’s nonprofit organizations; Trinity’s young people to help prepare them for lives of service; and to combat hunger, homelessness and health care in the wider world.

This will be done through the prudent investment over time of small and large bequests.

No amount is too small. Gifts to the endowment fund are often tax deductible. In many cases, gifts and bequests can favorably reduce taxes on your estate, leaving more money to your heirs, and putting more of it to work in active ministry.

For large gifts we recommend that a tax professional be consulted.

You can contribute to the endowment fund in several ways:

■ Designate a portion of your estate in a bequest

■ Assign your life insurance benefits

■ Assign or transfer certifi cates of deposits

■ Transfer property such as cash, stocks, bonds, and real estate

■ Set up a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust

■ Ask that memorial gifts be given in honor of family or friends

■ Give gifts of money, stock, or other property now

Fund oversight is provided by a seven-member committee, nominated by the church council and elected by the congregation. Additionally, the Senior Pastor and the Church Council President are non-voting committee members.

If you need assistance in your estate planning, the church office or a member of the endowment committee can provide you with a list of professional resources, plus a codicil form for your will. Thank you.
